Pacific Beach
Pacific Beach is a neighborhood in between La Jolla and Mission Beach and is popular for its active beaches and nightlife attractions. Known as “PB” by the locals, Pacific Beach has a rich culture and is populated by a younger crowd, many of which are college students. In addition to the beach itself, Pacific Peach also has several other outdoor spaces open to the public including Kate Sessions Park, Fanuel Street Park, and the Pacific Beach Recreation Center.
The home prices in Pacific Beach range from the low 300s to the tens of millions on the extreme high end. A large majority of the properties are relatively affordable for San Diego considering the location and proximity to the beach. Many of the houses tend to be on the older side and were built in the mid 1900s. A lot of the properties have been updated and upgraded over the years while preserving the original 1950s feel with classic kitchens, vibrant tile, and hardwood flooring. In this beach community, there is a mixture of detached houses and multi-family homes along with renters and homeowners.
Pacific Beach is a trendy place for bars, restaurants, and affordable shopping. No matter where you live in PB, you’re within a short walk from the beach or to the pub — it’s the type of town where you can get to and from on foot or a bike which is good because most of the parking in this community is street parking. The residential areas are tree-lined streets with palm trees, succulents, and mature plantings. Many houses have opted to xeriscape their yards and have put in low maintenance landscaping.
